Course Description: | Addresses the philosophy, evaluation techniques, and criteria used to prescribe and fit alternative communication devices and systems. Language development and intervention using augmentative/ alternative communication systems for persons with severe communication disorders is discussed. A variety of high and low-tech products, direct access scanning devices, and switch types are studied. |
