Course Description: This course explores the extent of federal, state, and tribal governmental jurisdiction over individuals, both tribal members and nonmembers. The course will include a general survey of civil jurisdiction - governmental authority to regulate conduct and the authority of courts to hear cases -- and continue with an in-depth consideration of tribal civil jurisdiction as recognized by the courts of the United States, over tribal members and non-tribal members.
Requisite Courses: take MJIL 6602, MJIL 6603, MJIL 6682 and MJIL 6692
